A little taste of spring!

The beautiful lilacs growing beside our house, a sure sign of spring and of course God's faithfulness!

The weather has been amazing the past few weeks, temperatures hitting the 20's!! We were happily lapping up the sunshine as much as possible after a long winter. However the spring rain has begun this week and the temperatures are dropping once again...summer isn't too far around the corner though!!

Popsicles have made their first appearance...

Kels and Con have contributed their annual Art Banners for the downtown lightposts,

(GREAT JOB GUYS!! Their 4th year!!)

the dandelions too have sprouted :( and with Mags help we'll see a whole lot more next year,

the trampoline is getting lots of use once again....

April Showers brought lots of flowers...

Beautiful Bouquet of roses from my dear hubby on my 35th birthday...aren't they grand?
A bouquet made with love from my dear daughter Kelsey, a keeper!

A gorgeous "Secretary's Day" bouquet from my bosses...

A pink hydrangea from Kev, Carole and Ashleigh and a blue one from Nicole and Gil!

The hydrangeas and rose bush already have a spot waiting for them in the gardens when the weather warms up! Thank you everyone! Can't wait for summer!

EASTER SUNDAY

HALLELUJAH, HE IS RISEN!
We experienced a beautiful service at church this morning. The message was based on Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
We were assured of Christ's victory over death and sin. What a comfort for believers and what a reason to rejoice!

Easter Dinner with the family

Thanks to everyone that came out! My (Lori's) entire family was able to get together...it's getting harder and harder! It was so nice! The kids played well, the adults were never without conversation and the food was good if I do say so myself...turkey with all the fixings!! Aunt Mare, Uncle Doug and Cousin Greg joined us, unfortunately Kate was unable to be with us as she is still working in Georgia...you were with us in our hearts Kate!

Everyone enjoying their food and eachother's company...

Gill (Nic's roomate from B.C.) and Nicole - Gill was like one of the family, glad you were able to come, we hope you felt right at home! They hid Hershey's kisses for the kids and gave them a jackpot of chocolate at the end...take a look....

Lots of happy kids that were "wired up" for the night.

GOOD FRIDAY

Today we were reminded of our Lord and Saviour's death on the cross. Thanks be to God for His mercy and love shown to us! How blessed we are to be able to freely go to church anytime we wish, something we really shouldn't take for granted...

CONGRATULATIONS NICOLE!!

Way to go Nic! Our baby sister has been accepted to Althouse (Teacher's College) this coming fall D.V. All the hard work paid off, a huge achievement as it is extremely hard to get into that college. We're all very proud of you Nicole and happy that you will be close by for one more year at least!!

At the Skateboard Park

Connor Turns 8!! SURVIVOR PARTY!

The celebrity

The Survivor Theme was big hit with the kids for Con's 8th birthday celebration. Unfortunately we came up with the idea the day before the actual party so it wasn't as well planned out as I would have liked it. However, sewing bandanas and decorating until 1:30 a.m. was well worth it eh boys?

We divided the kids into 2 teams - Locos (Trains) and Dermos (Elephants) - both well known to our town.. haha! They each received a color coded bandana, torch and flag and the games began! Thankfully the weather was nice so all the challenges (6 I think) were held outside.
The three cousins
Some more of the guests...Mags and Cousin Courtney
Mags, Aunt Nicole and Kelsey...Nicole's face paint compliments of Maggie!

The tribes feasted on tacos and nachos for supper. Followed by the Survivor Money cake and ice cream. It was loads of fun! Thanks to Aunt Ev and Aunt Nicole (and Bri of course) for helping make the evening a success.

Kels takes a shot...

Kelsey is showing an interest in photography... not bad for a greenhorn eh?

A Morning at the Centre

Our babies are growing up! The local Family Resource Centre is a favourite spot for Mags and Trent. It is an amazing community program funded by the government. There is tons of toys, crafts and programs everyday. They love it as you can see!

Puzzles

Play house

The paint centre is a real drawing card for our little artists, thankfully it's washable paint! They have cool recipes for koolaid play dough, home made gak and an array of healthy snack recipes too! Check a centre out in your city!!

Monkey see, Monkey Do

The hula skirt was pulled out of the closet and as you can see, what one does, the other must also!!
Today Mags was naked jumping into the tub and said,"Mommy, I'm just going to wear myself into the tub okay?"
They express themselves so amazingly! I have to start writing these down.
